Due to the nature of cast iron product, brake discs have a tendency to distort under normal operation condition. Discs rich very high temperature when braking and sudden cooling by air, rain or snow can cause disc distortion, roughness, thickness variation and disc run-out.
These defects cause inefficient braking, brake shudder and pulling to one side or the other.
On-car disc alignment is considered the most efficient method of rectifying such problems and is recommended by most vehicle manufacturers.

When the brake pedal is depressed a suddering sensation is experienced, the brake pedal pushes back against the foot in a shuddering motion and as more pressure is applied the greater the shuddering effect.
